The business of cyber crime moves more than 76,000 million euros a year worldwide. According to the National Institute of Cybersecurity, SA (INCIBE), cyber-attacks generate more than a trillion euros in losses between companies and end users.
One of these most famous attacks is the so-called "Ransomware". Its operation is very simple, the virus enters our computer, encrypts and blocks access to all information and asks for a ransom to unlock it.
In Spain, cyber-kidnappings have been identified that ask for a ransom of 300 to 3,000 euros, and paying for it does not guarantee that the information encrypted by the virus can be recovered.
Its mode of infection is very diverse, it can start from an infected file in a web of downloads to an apparently innocuous mail.
